About
Ridvan Senturk, PMP
I want project reports to help people decide what to do next. That starts with being clear about what the numbers mean—and what they assume.
I work in Canadian construction as a Project Controls Lead, based in Victoria, British Columbia. My work brings together planning, scheduling, progress measurement and forecasting.
The questions behind the work
Does the schedule reflect how the work can be delivered? What does reported progress tell us about the work left? When conditions change, has the forecast changed with them?
Project Controls Intelligence is where I work through those questions. I connect practical project-controls problems with public research, worked examples and visual explanations. The aim is to make the reasoning useful to the people reviewing dates, labour and project performance.
Professional background
My background spans construction project management, project controls and PMO leadership in international construction environments. My technical work includes Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Excel, Power BI and Procore.
I work on resource-loaded schedules, estimating-to-schedule integration, labour and resource planning, productivity, progress measurement and forecasting.
How I approach the writing
I distinguish what a source establishes from my interpretation, make assumptions and uncertainty visible, and label synthetic examples. An example can explain a decision without proving that the same result will hold on a real project.
I welcome evidence and professional disagreement that challenge the reasoning. The articles are a way to examine practice and share what I learn.
Independent and non-commercial
PC-I is my independent professional publication. I write on personal time, using public sources, synthetic examples and original reasoning. I do not use employer or client schedules, data, screenshots or confidential project situations. The views are my own.
Read or discuss
Explore the research, or start with how productivity informs a remaining-labour forecast.
I welcome thoughtful disagreement and conversations about the project-controls questions you encounter in practice.
